The Shanghai Shenhua football club has announced that forward Moreno will leave the team after a record-setting season in China's top flight.
Moreno, who joined the club from Spain last summer, scored 22 goals and provided seven assists in his debut season with the club, helping them to win the league title and reach the semi-finals of the Asian Champions League.
However, despite his impressive performances,Primeira Liga Tracking Moreno is now set to return to Spain where he played for several years before joining the Shenhua squad.
The club released a statement on their website saying: "After a successful season with Shanghai Shenhua, we have decided to part ways with our player, Moreno."
The club also thanked Moreno for his contributions during his time at the club and wished him well in his future career.
Moreno was one of the most prolific goal-scorers in Chinese football this season, scoring more than any other player in the league.
His departure marks the end of an era for the Shenhua squad, which has won the league title four times in the past five seasons.
But it also opens up opportunities for new players to join the club and continue the success story of the Shanghai Shenhua football club.
